Support Crew and Spectators
GET CLOSE TO THE ACTION
The Ultimate 4×4 Challenge isn’t just about the competitors — it’s about the people behind them, the mates who keep them moving and the spectators who come along to experience the action.
Whether you’re part of a support crew or simply want to see Australia’s toughest 4×4 teams take on some of the most challenging terrain around, you’ll be right in the middle of it.
FROM BASE CAMP TO THE ACTION
Spectators, support crew, marshals and competitors will all camp together at Base Camp at the beginning of the event.
This gives everyone the chance to settle in, meet fellow competitors and crews, soak up the atmosphere and experience the unique mateship that makes the Ultimate 4×4 Challenge what it is.
Competitors will leave Base Camp on Day 2 to tackle the course. From that point, support crew and spectators will remain camped at Base Camp while the competitors take on each day’s challenges.
FOLLOW THE ACTION
You won’t be left sitting back at camp wondering where the action is.
Each day, a dedicated Spectator & Support Crew Leader will escort spectators and support crew from Base Camp to the best viewing locations available on the course.
The event organisers will select the viewing locations based on the course, access, safety requirements and where the action is taking place each day.
This gives you the opportunity to get close to the action, see the vehicles tackle challenging sections of the course and experience the atmosphere of the Ultimate 4×4 Challenge from some of the best vantage points available.
Departure times from Base Camp for each day will be announced closer to the event.
WANT TO GET EVEN CLOSER? BECOME A MARSHAL.
If watching from the sidelines isn’t quite enough, why not consider becoming a marshal?
Marshals are an important part of making the Ultimate 4×4 Challenge happen — and they get to experience the action up close and personal.
Be right there as competitors tackle obstacles, navigate challenging sections, recover vehicles and push themselves and their machines to the limit.
It’s a great way to be involved in the event, experience the action from inside the course and become part of the team that helps make the Ultimate 4×4 Challenge possible.
Don’t just watch the action — be part of it.
MORE THAN JUST WATCHING
Expect mud, dust, big hills, big obstacles, winches, recovery action and plenty of horsepower.
But it’s not just about watching the vehicles.
It’s about being part of the experience — meeting other 4×4 enthusiasts, supporting your team, enjoying the Australian bush and Outback surroundings and soaking up the unique mateship that comes with an event like this.
Bring your mates. Bring your camping gear. Bring your sense of adventure.
